Join collects three types of information:
(i) Information Related to Your Account ("Personal Information" [PI])
This information is collected for the purpose of administering your Join subscription, and includes your name, email address, company name (if relevant), and payment information, which is submitted when you subscribe to the Products.
(ii) Marketplace Products and Join Connection Summary Statistics
Join collects anonymized information about usage to create a superior customer experience, excellent customer support, and quality of service.
(iii) Anonymous Connection Diagnostics and Crash Reports
Join connection diagnostics are anonymized and cannot be tied back to individual Join users.
Join collects personal and company information which you provide as part of the Service Registration process. We require that you provide personal information, such as an email address and payment information, in order to establish a Join account, and so that we can contact you, collect payments from you, and respond to support queries that you initiate. The specific information collected varies depending on the payment method you choose.
All Personal Information is securely encrypted at rest and kept distinctly separate and independent from all service related to the products and services you use (“Activity Data”).
All and any changes and/or accesses to the PI of a given User and the PI database are tracked in an Audit trail, to prevent unauthorized access and/or use of the PI data.
All Activity Data is fully anonymized, such that there exists no direct or indirect path to attribute, relate or identify a given User.
All Personal Information and Activity Data never leaves the Join system domain.
We neither sell nor provide Personal Information to any third party. Similarly we do not sell nor provide raw Activity Data to any third party.
Marketplace Products and Join Connection Summary Statistics
We ensure that we do not log your IP addresses and that those IP addresses are dynamic and randomly masked each time you connect to our network, such that IP addresses cannot be used to explicitly relate you to Activity.
All Activity Data associated with a given Service is Anonymized and as stated above not translatable to your Personal Information or that of any given User.
Should anyone try to compel Join to legally release your or another specific User’s Personal Information based on any of the Activity Data metrics, we cannot supply this information because we don’t ourselves have the capability to relate or attribute Activity Data to any given User.
Anonymous Join Connection Diagnostics and Crash Reports (Can be turned off by the user)
We collect anonymized analytics data used for network diagnostics. We use these data in our network operations tools to help optimize network speeds and to let us identify problems related to specific products or services. The information we receive is fully anonymized and cannot be related back to individual Join users.
Demands for Information through the Legal Process
If legally compelled to provide PI of any given User(s), we are able to comply without compromising User Privacy, since all that would be revealed is that the given User(s) are Customers of Join without any attribution towards Activity.
Storing of Information Related to Email, Live Chat, and Feedback Forms
Join keeps records of any correspondence, questions, complaints, or compliments you submit to us through our Portal or Products, along with our response. Depending on how you contact Join, we may collect your email address and any additional information you provide to us. Having full correspondence records enables our staff to provide the best possible customer support experience. Our data security model places this data with the Personal Information of the User which inherits all of its security properties, as well as separation and isolation from any Activity Data.
Security Measures to Protect Your Information
Join uses best-in-class physical, procedural, and technical security with respect to our offices and information storage facilities so as to prevent any loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, or modification of information. Access to User information is restricted to staff who require such access to perform their job functions.
While we believe these systems are robust, it is important to understand that no data security measures can offer 100% protection.
Servers are housed in data centers with strong security practices. None of these data centers require us to collect or store any traffic data or personal information related to your use of Join Products. If any data center were to ask us to log such data, we would immediately cease operations with that data center and find alternative options.
Physical access to Join hardware in data centers will not result in the breach of private information about any of our customers, since all Personal Information is encrypted at rest.
We’ve engineered our systems to categorically eliminate the ability to profile any given User by attributing Activity Data to the Personal Information of the given User.
We may know THAT you have used Join, but we never know HOW you have utilized our Platform.
Information for European Data Subjects
Contact information submitted to our website
When we receive information directly from visitors to our website who are citizens or residents of the European Union, that information is likely to include “personal data,” as regulated by the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). As the recipient of this information (generally just contact information), we are a “data controller” under the GDPR. As such, we will use that information only for the limited purpose of providing information about our products and services until the person who submitted the information no longer wishes that to occur, and anyone who submits personal data to our website consents to our use of that data for those purposes. As mandated by the GDPR, we will respond to your requests to delete, correct, transfer, provide information about, and otherwise manage the data you have submitted. You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. We provide these rights to anyone who submits information to our web site, whether or not he or she is a citizen or resident of the European Union. To request any of those services, please contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Other data submitted to, and processed through, the Join service
If you are using the Join service as a customer, you have either enrolled in the Join service directly or received authorization to do so from your employer (or if you are not an employee, from a business to which you provide services in another capacity).
If you have enrolled in the Join service directly, then we are a “data controller” under the GDPR with respect to any data you submit through the Join service.
If you have received authorization to use the Join service from your employer, we have entered into a contract with the business you work for, and that contract will govern how we handle any information that you submit to our services on behalf of the business you work for. Under the GDPR, we are the “data processor” of this information, and the business you work for is the data controller. We comply with our agreements with data controllers, which generally give the data controllers full decision-making power regarding the collection, storage, processing, modification, deletion, and transfer of any information submitted to our products.
Ultimately, it’s very easy for us to assure you that we comply with the GDPR and other data protection laws, because the Join services does not store any personal information that may be submitted to it, and our systems cannot profile any given User by attributing Activity Data to the Personal Information of the given User. Accordingly, whether we are serving as a data controller or a data processor, we don’t keep the data, so we have nothing to delete, correct, transfer, provide information about or otherwise manage at the request of our Users.
